We have started to look at how to optimise our site and change the header as you suggested and we are looking at the effectiveness of our search engine that we currently pay a fortune for. We will not renew that once it expires. My thanks for that as it will save us a lot.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You created such a lot of discussion and interest that we never quite got fully onto using blogs and twitter though we touched it enough to know that we can use this to our advantage. As a result of your visit we have employed a part time technology person to help us incorporate more technology into our business though generally I think we are well ahead in this area.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As well the E brochures and Property Gallery which you recommended are having good results for us. The Gallery is a very powerful listing tool as we offer to feature properties and that gives us an edge over competitors who don’t. When most agents offer the same having points of difference can be critical.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your previous work history compliments the service you have offered to us and your visits always produce positive benefits for us. The simple answer is that they have not been optimized for the net.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your online listings should utilize three important factors.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Optimized descriptive titles and text using keywords relevant to the property, your agency and the region where the property is located.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Professional&lt;/span&gt; Photos.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Correct exposure on the portal&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;Keywords and text has &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;already&lt;/span&gt; been covered in my blog, however it will be repeated again and again. Use relevant descriptive keywords. This will help your listing in natural &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;SERP&lt;/span&gt; (Search Engine Results Pages). A &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;differentiator&lt;/span&gt; to just being found by searchers using the portal.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So many agents still take their own photos and load them to the site. There are so many examples of bad quality &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;photo graphical&lt;/span&gt; presentations that we should all be showing these to potential vendors. Using a professional photographer to showcase the property should be the easiest thing to ask &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;VPA&lt;/span&gt; (Vendor Paid Advertising) for as it is 100% in the interest of the vendor to achieve a &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;successful&lt;/span&gt; sale. Images can also be rolled over. If a particular image is not capturing an audience then change it. You can re-present an old listing and make it look new just by changing the image used in the search pages.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;today's&lt;/span&gt; climate with nearly every agency showcasing their listing online it is vital we have negotiated the best possible exposure for our listings. The workshop gave the real estate agents first hand instructions on how to set up, maintain and optimize their blogs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Blogs are a great, free resource which real estate agents can utilize to promote their own online presence. As the search engine spiders crawl through the billions of websites they record every link. &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Every time&lt;/span&gt; they find a link to your site they will use it to increase your popularity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your website will become more popular when you have other websites linking to it. If a well ranked website links back to your site it will increase your popularity even further.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is important that you exchange links with sites who share the same relevance as yours. for example, other real estate agencies (obviously not agents in your direct area), tourist operators, community groups, sporting groups which are based in your area or region are also link exchange candidates.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use google or another search engine to search for &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;relevant&lt;/span&gt; websites and send them an email. When used correctly. Keywords are what users will find your site with on search engines like Google, Yahoo and Live. Rarely are they used correctly by real estate agents.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Traditionally in print marketing we used keywords such as "Wow" "Location, Location, Location" and "Sensational views" These keywords are used to capture the buyers attention. Difference being, they have already bought the newspaper and have already turned to the relevant real estate classifieds section to pursue their research. When online the buyer must first find what they are looking for before we can draw their attention to features.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With this in mind we look at being more descriptive than the keywords we used in our print marketing.
